The birth of Ava DuVernay was on the 24th of August 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay received encouragement from Aunt Denise as just a young girl. DuVernay developed an interest in journalistic broadcasting while in school. Her first job was as an intern with CBS News, during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay was told to examine the garbage of the home of a juror. Her disappointment was evident in her journalistic duties and decided to change to the field of public relations. DuVernay was hired right from college to be an intern at the studio that was small. The year 1999 was the time she established her own firm that specialized in public relations, The DuVernay Agency. In addition, she launched several lifestyle and promotions networks like Urban Beauty Collective. Urban Eye, HelloBeautiful, and Urban Thought Collective.
